Another burnt out car #inthemiddleofnowhere - for @porcelainrocket :-) #westernaustralia
More adventures in south-eastern #westernaustralia :-) these ones in #fitzgeraldrivernationalpark #wellbeback
When a trip doesn’t go and you swap to hanging out with family instead (climbing rocks, teaching rope work and safety plus listening to tailgate concerts) it turns out just fine :-). Car wreck in middle of nowhere shot for @porcelainrocket . #eucla #peakcharles #familytime
A little bit of trip planning :-). #middleofnowhere #westernaustralia #gottocarrylots @extrawheel @porcelainrocket
Ramblings in the north (warmer) for a week in honour of 14 years hitched :-) #westernaustralia #luckybay #lakeindoon #kalbarri #zbend #rockclimbing #kayaking @towwhee (not just for cycling) #textures #hawkshead
All done, nearly 900km of the #mawsontrail with some sogginess to finish. Many thanks to @treadlybikeshop for hanging onto our bike bags and getting the only 3-in-1 photo of the trip.
#nearlydone on the #mawsontrail - in the southern stretches it’s rural/agricultural with brief smatterings of bush - and we’ve been coinciding with #heysentrail huts wherever possible. Particularly worth the uphill diversion was #marschallhut above Riverton. Now dodging rain and timing our final approach into Adelaide
That time when you are sitting trailside and staring unfocusedly at your bike and realise you’re a @paragonmachine rocker bolt short.... . When any M6 bolt will do :-)
#Mawsontrail continued with much more rural in this central section than up north. After a great day off in Melrose catching up with an old friend we’re trucking along with only morning frosts and a touch of rain to slow us down :-)
Off grid for a few weeks riding the #mawsontrail - all going nicely :-). @towwhee makes all the difference - transforming the impossible into a happy 6year old after 8 days of riding (so far).
#aplaceofpeacemadebywildness #westcapehowe #rockclimbing #westernaustralia #seacliffclimbing #southernocean A weekend foray with old and new friends with a swim at #dunskybeach plus some exploring :-)
If you want the best viewpoint you get up high - so as well as (instead of) clearing leaves from the gutters some telescope action was had :-) #properchildhood #perthhills #westernaustralia #bushfireseason
#givingitsome #earlyriderbikes #newframebag @porcelainrocket #christmasdownunder
It being summer here, we’ve moved sleeping outside - where it should always be! The extra lights only for a few more days though.
A week on #flindersisland #travelbybike was a lot better once the wind settled down and our 3-person, 3-bike #lifebybicycle got established. The island is blessed by quiet roads of all surfaces and some great camp spots, beaches and the occasional mountain to climb. @earlyriderbikes @porcelainrocket #ampeirce @towwhee (the secret weapon that gets a 5yo to gladly do 45km on dirt)
#travelinstyle - arriving with 3 bicycles and no trailer for the first time. All in the face of 50-70kph winds, so a sheltered spot to wait it out seemed the best plan! @earlyriderbikes #flindersisland #tasmania #ladybarron
#walkingintherain #caperaoul #tassie #tasmania Not really a day for a view - we were hoping to see #shipsternsbluff in all its glory but couldn’t even see the sea at the bottom of the cliff. #greattobeback :-)
#cyclehiking in southern #westernaustralia just for a place to sleep in between digging sand turtles and other such fun :-). 20” wheels, gears (all 9 of them) and brakes that really really work also part of the joy! @earlyriderbikes #newbike #albany #kidpacking
#bikepacking - the uphill version while it’s rider walks. Photo by Dave at the end of a 5 day trip #westernaustralia
A diversion on our way back from Invermere to Calgary - guess where?
