With just over 2 weeks to go before we head back to Australia at the end of our meander down the Americas, we’re getting organised.
Sarah’s original bike was stolen in Mendoza, and we opted to get back on the road by buying a reasonable, but relatively low cost mountain bike. This wasn’t intended to be a ‘long-term’ bicycle, so we’re looking to sell it before we head home.
We fly from Punta Arenas on 3rd April and then spend 24 hours in Santiago, Chile. We’d prefer to sell it in Punta Arenas, but could do so in Santiago.
The bike is pretty much as seen. It has an Acera-Alivio drivechain, Tektro v-brakes (though the hubs, fork and frame are set-up to run disc brakes if needed) and a 3×8 speed gearing. The frame is 16″. It now has a Shimano HG93 XT 9 speed chain and a new rear derailleur hanger. Also included would be a spare inner tube and brake pads. Pedals are not included.
We paid Ar$2200 (approx. US$500), and are looking for US$200 o.n.o

Much to our joy, we were able to sell Sarah’s Look in Punta Arenas to a Belgian girl who wants to use it to continue south, then for further trips in South America.
